This week’s theme is hosted by the fabulous Paper Cathedrals so if you’re participating, go add your link at the bottom of the post I have linked. The theme is impactful books and this has caused me to think and overthink and change my mind more than I thought it should. Continue reading “#BookishBloggersUnite – Impactful Books”
This weekend is 24 in 48 readathon and I am very excited to participate. If you haven’t heard of 24 in 48 or don’t know what a readathon is, go sign up! It’s more than just another excuse to read. You can meet other readers, win prizes, and talk about books with people from all over the world. If you’ve never done a readathon, this post is for you with some tips and tricks from my experience doing readathons so you don’t have to make my mistakes (See above: Sonny clearly in picture for Instagram. Hey. We can’t all have perfect blogs/social media accounts.)
Okay, okay; so maybe I haven’t been the most reliable blog poster recently, but I have had at least 2-3 good reasons for it. What have been up to? And, most importantly, what have I been reading? Short answer: not a lot. Continue reading “So Katy…what have you been up to all this time!?”
It’s been a hot minute (or two or three…) since I’ve written in this space or posted on my Instagram, but I’m officially back after a lengthy illness. Thanks to everyone who read or followed me while I was gone. I’m eager to talk about what I’ve been up to as well so expect a few posts over the next few weeks.
I’m happy to be back hosting #BookishBloggersUnite. This week is about influential childhood books/series. Due to my upbringing, I imagine mine will be nothing like anyone else’s, but here we go! Continue reading “#BookishBloggersUnite – Influential Childhood Books”
I’ve been in a tiny reading slump lately. I’m still close to my monthly goal to hit my 2018 reading goal, but every week I get one book further away from my goal. It seems silly to make strict reading goals like that, but when you own as many books as I do, you’ve gotta work to get through them! Instead of feeling discourage, I decided to try and make a TBR stack. Continue reading “My April 2018 TBR Stack”
I’ve thought about this post for a long time and knew I wanted to spend some time talking about my discovery of used books. Would I talk about the stores? Would I recall the fever dream I had where I magically ordered $150 of used books and received 16 books after a few weeks I forgot about? No. This post comes from an unlikely source: my current research and discovery into my spirituality. Continue reading “A Love Letter to Used Books and the People Who Read Them”
I’m so excited that it’s FRIDAY and the weekend is here! Not only does that mean I can stay up and read late, but it also means that #BookishBloggersUnite is going on today. The fabulous Sue at Doddy About Books is hosting this week and she wanted to celebrate Women’s History Month so we’re talking about our favorite female authors by genre. If you want to participate, don’t forget to add the link to your post by clicking the button at the bottom of Sue’s post. My post is being done with a little twist… Continue reading “#BookishBloggersUnite – Kicking Off US Women’s History Month”
I had a stinkin’ awful, no good, rotten February. Maybe it was the shortened month so I had less days at work. Possibly it was the books I read being too serious or just flat-out bad. Maybe it was my mail getting placed in the wrong box and all my packages being sent back and experiencing bad customer service from my subscription box (bye Book of the Month. It was nice knowing you). I’m glad it’s behind me and so I’d like to focus on the positive: my favorite books of February 2018. Continue reading “Favorite Books of February 2018”
Happy Friday everyone! I’m happy to share the first post for Bookish Bloggers Unite. Bookish Bloggers Unite was formed when a group of like-minded writers decided they wanted to talk about books together. We hope you’ll join us!
